Flooded Basement
The rising water table around the basement had reached such a level that the improvised drainage system could no longer effectively remove the water. This persistent flooding posed significant risks, including the potential for mold growth, damage to personal belongings, and structural integrity issues.
WaterGuard
Our team initiated the project by excavating concrete from the basement perimeter to install the WaterGuard drainage system. WaterGuard intercepts water before it infiltrates the basement, channeling it to the sump pump for efficient removal. The system is embedded in crushed stone to facilitate optimal downward flow towards the sump pump.
TrenchDrain and Feed Line
TrenchDrain, a variant of the WaterGuard system, functions as a surface drainage solution. It is employed in areas where WaterGuard installation is impractical, such as behind the homeowner's oil and hot water tank. To enhance efficiency, a feed line was integrated with the TrenchDrain system, ensuring more effective water delivery to the sump pump. Larger basements particularly benefit from this feed line, as it prevents water accumulation within the drainage system. The feed line spans from one wall to the opposite end.
Drainage System Concreted
Once our drainage system has been flood-tested to confirm effective water delivery to the sump pump, it is secured in place with concrete. Our production teams meticulously level the concrete to match the foundation floor, resulting in a smooth surface and ensuring the waterproofing system remains unobtrusive.
TrenchDrain Collecting Water in Front of Door
TrenchDrain was also employed to capture water ingress at the bulkhead entrance. This system is typically installed in front of doorways to effectively manage surface water.
Feed Line Concreted
Like the WaterGuard and TrenchDrain systems, the feed line was embedded in the foundation floor and meticulously leveled to maintain a smooth and even basement surface.
TripleSafe Sump Pump and Sanidry XP Dehumidifier
The TripleSafe Sump Pump is renowned for its unparalleled reliability. It features a trio of pumps: a primary, secondary, and battery-powered backup, all housed within a sealed liner and equipped with a flood watch alarm. This system is capable of expelling substantial volumes of water from the home continuously, even during power outages. As water enters the basin from our drainage system, it is promptly evacuated from the premises. Additionally, the SaniDry XP Dehumidifier operates continuously to maintain optimal humidity levels, which is crucial for basements that have historically experienced high moisture levels, such as this homeowner's.
IceGuard
Water is expelled from the home via a discharge line. As this line exits the basement, the IceGuard system serves as a failsafe, preventing backups in the rare event of freezing or clogging. This additional safeguard ensures the basement remains protected from leaks and flooding.
Bubbler Pot
A bubbler pot was installed at the terminus of the discharge line to facilitate efficient water drainage into the soil. This prevents surface puddling and ensures the lawn remains dry and free from sogginess.
