A Boxford, Massachusetts homeowner has resided in their home for 20 years, but has consistently seen water seep into their basement since purchasing it. They had hoped to use the area for storage, but the constant seepage made them hesitant. After contacting EFS for a complimentary basement inspection, Design Specialist Michael LaMalfa assessed the area with the homeowner and recommended installing WaterGuard, TrenchDrain, FloodRing, and SuperSump to prevent further water damage. 

Branden Edwards and his Installation Team then chipped out a 6-inch wide trench around the basement perimeter, as well as a hole for the SuperSump. Additional drainage was implemented around the oil tank and water heater. The team proceeded to lay the drainage into the trenches and install the sump pump into the pit. Once the drainage was set, concrete was poured to secure it into place. The team also installed a FloodRing around the water heater while the concrete cured. 

The homeowner was thrilled with the results of the project, as they no longer have to worry about water damage in their basement.

A homeowner in Boxford, Massachusetts, found that their home has radon levels slightly above the recommended amount. The homeowners have half of their basement finished and the other half was unfinished. The homeowners were looking to lower the radon levels in the home and find peace of mind. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Tom custom designed a radon mitigation system for the home. 

Our production team began by creating an extraction point in the unfinished portion of the basement. The team used a coring drill to make a circular hole in the slab so we can fit a PVC pipe to the extraction point. Next, the team fed the PVC pipes from the extraction point to the exterior of the home where we installed the radon fan to the exterior of the home. Once the extraction point was connected to the fan the team then vented the entire system above the roofline of the home to prevent any radon from re-entering the home. 

A homeowner in Boxford, Massachusetts, had just purchased the house that they have lived in for their entire life. The home was built over 150 years ago and the homeowner operates an ice cream business out of the home. The new homeowner plans to make it their forever home. The homeowner will be updating the home in the future, like redoing the kitchen. When they purchased the home an inspector looked through the home to make sure everything was structurally in good standing. The inspector noted that some of the supports in the basement should be replaced if they plan on doing any renovations. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Kenny recommended installing SmartJacks to replace the old supports in the basement. Kenny additionally recommended installing a SaniDry to control the humidity in the basement. 

Our production team began by chipping out some of the concrete in the slab in the basement where we were going to install the new support. The team then installed and leveled our big footings beneath the concrete slab. Next, the team cut our galvanized steel beams to the correct size and installed them over the footing, and connected them to the beam or supplemental beam by using an adjustable top bracket. The team tightened each of the top brackets to lift the beams above. After the SmartJacks were attached to the beams the team then poured a layer of concrete over the footings to lock them in place and to eliminate any tripping hazard. 

The homeowner was very happy with the results of the projects. They can now move forward with starting to renovate their kitchen. 

Erickson Foundation Solutions recently finished a project on a sunroom in Boxford, Massachusetts. The project was to install EZ posts and SmartJacks. The homeowner had to replace the roof because the water was entering and causing damage. Before the homeowner replaced the roof they wanted to stabilize the foundation of the sunroom. 

The homeowner met with Design Specialist John Prince. John found the 6 original supports of the sunroom are sinking. John had also noticed that there is some sagging on the floor in the sunroom. John recommended installing 6 Helical Piers and 3 SmartJacks with a Supplemental beam under the sunroom. 

Melanie C. of Boxford, MA was experiencing some sinking and cracking in her front walkway as well as her pool deck. She called Erickson Foundation Solutions to see if someone could come out and look at the walkway and her pool deck for repair. 

Design Specialist Royce Potts came to the home and inspected the walkway and pool deck. After inspecting the concrete surfaces, Royce proposed that Melanie's concrete surfaces should be lifted and leveled. The product the team will use to lift and level the concrete will be PolyLevel. 

Crew Lead Nick Melo and his team came to the home and lifted and leveled the front walkway and the pool deck by injecting PolyLevel under the sinking slabs. PolyLevel will fill any voids under the slabs and then will expand and lift the slab. Using PolyLevel the team can lift each slab as much or as little as they please. 

After the team leveled all of the slabs they sealed all of the cracks too.
