Concrete Sinking Beneath Pool Coping
Although partially obscured by the pool cover, it was evident that sections of the concrete pool deck had begun to settle below the level of the pool coping due to underlying voids. This differential settlement created hazardous trip points, posing a significant safety risk. The homeowner was actively seeking a long-term solution to re-level and structurally stabilize the deck to prevent further deterioration and ensure safe use of the pool area.
Slab Jacks
Precision slab jacking techniques were employed to realign the settled concrete sections, restoring them to a level position flush with the pool coping. Care was taken to maintain a slight pitch away from the pool to ensure proper drainage and prevent water intrusion.
PolyLevel
While the slab jacks remained in place to maintain proper alignment, PolyLevel-a high-density, rapidly curing polyurethane foam-was strategically injected beneath the concrete slabs to fill existing voids. This expansive foam material provides structural support by compacting loose soils and bonding with the underside of the slab, effectively stabilizing the deck and preserving its level position over time.
Concrete Repair Cleanup
Any excess foam that emerged from injection ports or expansion joints was promptly removed to ensure a clean finish. Our crews adhere to strict site cleanliness standards and take great pride in leaving the work area in better condition than when they arrived.
