Walkway Crack
The walkway leading to the home's main entrance exhibited a significant structural fracture, presenting a substantial tripping hazard. This damage was primarily caused by void formation beneath the concrete slab, which compromised its ability to distribute load effectively. As a result, differential settlement occurred, with one section of the slab subsiding beneath the adjacent portion, indicating a loss of subgrade support and potential soil instability.
Slab Jacks
Slab Jacks-our specialized equipment designed for precision concrete lifting-were utilized to elevate and reposition the settled slabs to their intended grade. This method ensures accurate leveling while minimizing disruption to the surrounding structure, effectively restoring both safety and functionality to the affected area.
PolyLevel
PolyLevel, a structural-grade polyurethane foam, was injected beneath the concrete slabs while Slab Jacks maintained the target elevation. As the foam expanded and cured, it effectively filled underlying voids, providing uniform support and restoring the slab to its proper grade. This process ensures long-term stabilization by mitigating future settlement and enhancing load-bearing capacity.
NexusPro
NexusPro, a high-performance silicone-based joint sealant, was applied to the fractured section of the walkway to restore surface continuity and mitigate further deterioration. In addition to enhancing the visual appearance of the repair, the sealant forms a flexible, waterproof barrier that prevents moisture infiltration beneath the slab-thereby reducing the risk of subgrade erosion and preserving the structural integrity of the concrete.
