A homeowner in Ayer, Massachusetts, had lived in their 1850s home for the past 11 years. The homeowners had become worried about the safety and stability of the floors in their home. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection, and our Design Specialist John examined the floors in the home. The homeowners point him to a "soft" spot on the floor. John recommended installing 5 SmartJacks and 2 Supplemental Beams spanning a total of 19ft to stabilize the floors, rim joist insulation, and an Aspen Air Purifier. 

Our production team began removing the old wooden beam and supports. After the old supports were removed, the team then dug out a place for our big footings to rest on a level surface. Once the footings were in the right spot and leveled the team then installed the supports and attached them to the Supplemental Beam. The team then adjusted the brackets on the SmartJacks to lift and stabilize the floor. Once the floor was stabilized, the team then sprayed rim joist insulation around the perimeter of the crawlspace to prevent drafts or critters from entering the crawlspace. Following the Rim Joist installation, the team then installed the Aspen Air Purifier into the home. 

The homeowners were very happy with the results of the project. 

A homeowner in Ayer, Massachusetts, had installed their pool 12 years ago in the backyard behind the garage. Since the pool was installed the homeowner had noticed cracks forming on the foundation wall of the garage closest to the pool. The homeowner believed that the installation of the pool 12 years ago disturbed the foundation of the garage. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their foundation, and our design specialist recommended installing Geolocks to secure the back foundation wall.

Our production team began by chipping out a trench in the middle of the garage floor. The trench spanned the width of the garage so the team could install Geolocks to the back foundation wall. After the team chipped out the concrete in the garage floor, the team dug down 3-1/2' to create room for our Geolock plates to be installed. Once the team removed the dirt from the trench in the garage, they then moved to the back of the garage where they drilled 4 small evenly spaced holes across the foundation wall. The team used those holes as a starting point for the rod that connects the two Geolock plates. To send the rod through the wall and to have it end up in the trench in the garage, the team had to use an impact gun to push the rod through the soil. Once the team got all four of the rods pushed to the trench the team then connected the Geolock plates to both ends of the rod. After both ends of the rod have plates on them the team used a power drill to tighten all of the Geolocks. Tightening the Geolocks pulled the wall back in toward the home and stabilize the foundation wall. Once everything was tightened the team backfilled the dirt back into the trench in the garage. Once the trench was full the team poured new concrete to seal in the Geolocks. 

This homeowner in Ayer, MA reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions with some waterproofing concerns. The boiler room in the basement was just inside the back door on the lower level of the home. Over the years this floor would get flooded during heavy rains or when lots of snow melted. They had been living with the problem and planned to get it fixed eventually. However, the water began to find it's way deeper into the finished basement space and was causing damage to the walls and flooring in an office space within the basement. 

Our waterproofing team installed a sump pump system with a battery back-up within the boiler room section of the basement. This is where the water was entering the home, and was also the low spot. After installation, the water seeping into the basement was all captured into the system and effectively pumped out before it reached the finished section of the basement. The homeowner was very satisfied with the solution and the work completed.
