PolyLEVEL for House on Slab - Hampton, NH PolyLEVEL for House on Slab - Hampton, NH

This home in Hampton, NH was built on a slab, which over the years was gradually settling. PolyLEVEL was an ideal solution to lift the slab and fill the voids underneath, while doing minimal damage to the inside (holes drill through the slab). The slab had settled up to an inch, putting the floor out of level, and PolyLEVEL easily lifted it back into a level position.

Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Get in contact with us now to learn how to protect your loved ones from the harmful effects of radon gas.

Job Stories From Hampton, NH
4 Season Sunroom Needs to Be Stabilized, Hampton, NH

A homeowner in Hampton, New Hampshire, had a sunroom on the back of their home that was settling. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their sunroom. Our Design Specialist Liam inspected the back of the home and recommended replacing the failing sonotubes with our Helical Piers with porch brackets.

Our installation team began by setting up temporary supports around the sunroom so we could remove the old sonotubes and supports. Once removed the team began setting our Helical Piers under the corners of the sunroom. Once the piers were driven to the correct pressure, the team then installed our porch bracket and a 6X6 PT to the Helical up to the bottom of the sunroom to support it.

The homeowner was very pleased with the installation of the Helical Piers in their sunroom. They no longer have to worry about their sunroom settling again.

Full Perimeter Drainage, Hampton, NH

A homeowner in Hampton, New Hampshire, has groundwater seeping into their basement and their sump pump isn't able to soak up the water that collects on the floor. The homeowner has become frustrated with cleaning up water from the basement. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Tom recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system to collect any water that tries to seep into the basement and sends it toward the sump pump to be pumped to the exterior of the home.

Our Installation team began by chipping out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement so we could install 124' of WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. The team laid sections of WaterGuard into the trench that the team made around the basement. We connected each section and made sure to perform a water test to ensure that the water will flow toward the TripleSafe that was already installed in the basement. After the water test, the team mixed up concrete and encased the WaterGuard concrete to lock it in place.

The homeowner was very impressed with the installation of the WaterGuard in the basement. They have not seen any water seeping into their basement since having EFS install the WaterGuard.

Foundation Settlement, Hampton, NH

A homeowner near the seacoast in Hampton, New Hampshire, has become concerned with their foundation settling. The homeowners have lived in their homes since 2018 and have become more and more concerned over the years. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Jason inspected the home and took measurements to see how much the home had settled. Jason found the parts of the foundation had settled about 3/4", so he recommended installing 30 Push Piers around the full perimeter of the home.

Our Installation Team began by bringing our equipment so we could install all of our Push Piers around the home. Next, the team dug a hole down to the footing of the foundation for each of the Push Piers were will install. After each hole was made the team attached a Push Pier Bracket to the footing into each hole. The team will then use 3' sections of piers and send each section using a hydraulic press until sufficient pressure is achieved. The team will then cut and cap the pier so it will stay in that position. The team repeats this until all of the Push Piers were installed. After they all were installed, the team then backfilled each hole.

The homeowners were very pleased with the job done by EFS.

Beach Front Home Needs New Support in Basement, Hampton, NH

A beach home in Hampton, New Hampshire, was purchased in August 2022. After owning the home for over a year they have noticed sagging in the main floors of their home. They wanted a company to come out and look at the supports in the home and give them a solution on how to repair the problem. The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection by our Design Specialist Jason Vachon. Jason inspected the home and the basement and found that both the main beams have sagged more than a 1/2". Jason recommended installing 4 SmartJacks in the basement under the main beams to eliminate the sag in the beams.

Our installation team began by setting up temporary posts in the basement so the team could remove the old lally columns. After, the team began chipping out 4 footings for the SmartJacks. Once the concrete was removed the team installed our SmartJacks and set them on our square footings. The team then secured all of the SmartJacks to the two main beams that were sagging and began lifting each one until they were level. Once the team verified that each beam was level the team then mixed concrete and poured it over each square footing of the SmartJack to lock them into place.

FlexiSpan Installed, Hampton, NH

A homeowner in Hampton, New Hampshire, was selling the home but had some cracks in the foundation wall. They have seen some water entering the cracks so they wanted to get in front of them before they place the home on the market. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist John recommended installing FlexiSpan over the foundation crack.

Our production team began by cleaning out any debris from within the crack. Next, they line around the crack with duct tape and then covered the crack with a membrane that won't allow water to enter the basement. Next, they chipped out a section of concrete at the bottom of the crack so water could drain under the home. Next, the team sealed the membrane on the foundation wall so no water could penetrate the basement.

Our homeowners were pleased with the results of the project. They were now able to put their home on the market without having to explain the foundation crack in their basement.

Failed Support Under Kitchen Cabinets Causing Sagging, Hampton, NH

A homeowner in Hampton, New Hampshire, now possessed their mother's home of 30 years. The home was built in the 1920s and for 5 years the homeowner noticed the floor was sagging near the cabinets in the kitchen. The homeowner might be planning the home in a few years, so they wanted to correct the floors for when the time comes they could place the home on the market. Our design specialist recommended installing SmartJacks in the crawlspace under the home to add support under the kitchen and to the main beam.

Our production team began by removing the supports that are failing. Next, the team laid down some engineered fill to add support to our SmartJacks. Our team used our big plate SmartJacks. The big plate SJs use a larger footplate than our normal one. Our team installed 2 SmartJacks underneath the kitchen and one further down the main beam. The team connected the SmartJacks to the beam with long screws and used the adjustable top to lift the main beam. The team lifted the beam enough to level the floors of the home.

The homeowner was happy that the floors are now supported. They now can decide whether they wanted to sell the home yet or not.

Detached Garage in Condo Association Had Cracking and Sinking Concrete, Hampton, NH

A condo association had a detached garage with 3 bays that the concrete inside of them was sinking and cracking. The condos were built in 2001 and in 2010 some of the tenants that use the garages noticed the concrete started to crack and sink. The tenants notified the condo association and they put it off for a couple of years. After a decade of the sinking and cracking being brought up by tenants, the condo association decided to repair the garage bays. Our design specialist Brian recommended installing PolyLevel and NexusPro into the garage to lift, level, and seal the concrete.

Our production team began by drilling port holes in a grid pattern throughout the concrete. The team used the portholes to inject PolyLevel underneath the concrete to lift and level the slab. The team used short bursts of poly to lift the concrete slowly and precisely. Once the team lifted and leveled the entire slab they then transitioned into sealing all of the cracks using NexusPro. The team used a motorized caulking gun to push NexusPro into the cracks in the concrete. The team sealed about 57' of cracks around the garage to cover all of the cracks.

The condo association and its tenants are happy with the results of the project. They both no longer had to worry about sinking and cracking concrete in their garages.

Water Entering Basement During Heavy Rain, Hampton, NH

A homeowner in Hampton, New Hampshire, had water coming into their basement during heavy rains. The homeowners wanted to find a lasting fix so unexpected water doesn't continue to appear in the basement. Our design specialist Stephen recommended installing a small section of WaterGuard, a SuperSump, and an IceGuard in the basement.

Our WaterProofing team began by chipping out 13' of concrete along the foundation wall. This trench created by the team will hold the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard collects any water that had tried to enter the basement. In the back corner of the basement, there was an old sump pump basin that the team was going to use for the new sump pump. The team increased the size of the old sump pump basin to make room for the larger SuperSump. The SuperSump was connected to the WaterGuard System. So water will collect in the WaterGuard and that water will be guided to the SuperSump to be pumped out of the home. To pump the water out of the home the team used a core drill to create a hole in the wall. The team installed the drainage line through the hole they created with the core drill. On the outside of the home where the drainage line comes out, the team installed an IceGuard to protect from water backing up into the basement. The team then connected the rest of the drainage line into the yard so the water won't come back into the basement.

The homeowners were happy with the waterproofing system installed in their basement. The homeowners don't have to worry about water entering their basement anymore.

Failing Foundation, Hampton, NH

Condo Association owner Ray C in Hampton, New Hampshire called Erickson about saving the foundation of his building. Design Specialist Michael LaMalfa had come to the building and examined it. Ray's building was experiencing a couple of different foundational issues, mostly caused by the marsh that the back of the building sits in. The daily movement of the water caused by the tides has left a toll on the foundation. The foundation has been pushed and pulled so many times has caused the concrete on the garage level to heave in the middle and cause uneven floors on the above levels. There is a 75' crack on the back of the building where the wall has begun to bow. Inside each of the 10 tenant's garages, there are uneven floors and cracks.

A few different Erickson Foundation Solutions teams came to the Condo Association to repair the foundation. The first team to arrive at the condos was Spencer Ladd's Team. Spencer's team specializes in Foundation Stabilization Products. Spencer and his team installed Geolocks between the back wall and the garage floor. One end of the Geolock was placed under the garage floor and the other was placed against the crack on the back wall to stabilize the back wall.

The second team at the job was Nick Carelli's team. Nick's team was installing Push Piers to the foundation; this is going to support and prevent it from sinking. Push Piers is a sleeve that is mounted to the footing of the foundation and once it is mounted the team will use a hydraulic press to push 3-1/2' sections of the interlocking rod down into the ground until they hit bedrock or reach an acceptable PSI to hold the foundation in place.

The third team was Nick Melo and his concrete repair team. They specialize in lifting and leveling concrete using PolyLEVEL. They came to the property and injected PolyLEVEL into the garage floor to lift, level, and fill any voids that were created by the foundation issues.

Lastly, Branden Edwards and his team specialize in sealing cracks. The team was able to seal the 75' crack on the back wall and was able to pour new concrete into each of the garages to repair the hole the Geolocks were installed in.

This was one of the larger jobs that EFS has done recently. The job took around 6 weeks and a couple of different crews to complete but the EFS Crew delivered what they promised, and that was a secured foundation.
