A company in Waltham, Massachusetts started to notice small shifts in their concrete paths around the building. Sunken concrete near staircases also created trip hazards that the company wanted to resolve immediately. Taking a proactive approach to maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing walkway, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.

Our Design Specialist, Jim Meglio, recommended installing PolyLevel and NexusPro joint sealant. The PolyLevel was used to fill voids underneath the concrete that have been caused by soil settling. This polyurethane foam is a permanent solution for concrete repair, taking a fraction of the time and cost that it would to replace concrete. Once installed, the PolyLevel will instantly raise concrete back to its original position. The NexusPro joint sealant is a highly flexible, silicone-based caulking material that is designed to withstand drying, cracking, and bubbling. This product seals joins from water infiltration and provides a clean look.

With PolyLevel and NexusPro installed, the company now has a safe and attractive walkway that enhances the overall look of the property.

Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Get in contact with us now to learn how to protect your loved ones from the harmful effects of radon gas.

Job Stories From Waltham, MA
Basement Flood Repair in Waltham, MA

Judy F. of Waltham, MA is retired and wants to travel the world. Unfortunately, her basement periodically flooding has left her feeling uneasy about staying away from home for long periods of time. Looking to create a permanently dry basement, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
After a conversation with our Customer Care team, an appointment was made for System Design Specialist, Mark Proctor, to go out to the home and complete a free home inspection. Mark recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and our TripleSafe sump pump system. This waterproofing system is designed to capture water along the border of the foundation and distribute it to the sump pump system, where it is then pumped out of the home. Our installation crew chipped out concrete along the wall where water would seep through in order to make space for the WaterGuard system. Once concrete was removed, the crew installed the WaterGuard system within crushed stone. A sump basin was then created in order to allow a downward flow of water to the sump pump. Once created, the sump pump system was put in the basin and then attached to the WaterGuard system. Next, an exterior discharge line was installed to the sump pump. This plumbing system is the vessel that removes water from the home. IceGuard was attached to the exterior discharge line in order to prevent the pipes from freezing. Frozen pipes can back up water flow and potentially result in basement flooding.

With all systems installed, a waterproofed basement is born! Judy can now travel the world with peace of mind that her home and basement are safe.

Basement Leak Repair in Waltham, MA

Manny of Waltham, Massachusetts experienced leaks coming in through his rear basement wall. Using the space for storage and laundry, Manny had concerns for the safety of personal belongings. Looking to keep the basement permanently dry, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.

Tom Armano, one of our Design Specialists, came out to the home to conduct a free home inspection. Upon completion, Tom recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and UltraSump sump pump. Our installation crew installed WaterGuard perimeter drainage along the foundation wall where leaks were entering. This system captures water from outside of the foundation before being exposed to the foundation walls or floor, and filters water to the sump pump system. Our installation crew then dug out the sump basin to allow water to flow downward to the sump pump. The sump pump was then put in place and connected to the WaterGuard system. With all systems connected, they were then tested and cemented in place. An exterior discharge line was installed to the sump pump and then buried in a safe location away from the home. This plumbing system allows water to be pumped out of the basement. IceGuard was attached to the discharge line. This system prevents water from freezing amid cold temperatures. Freezing pipes can create a water backup and potentially flood the basement.

With this waterproofing system now in place, Manny can rely on his basement staying dry all the time. His laundry and personal storage are now protected.

Leaky Basement Repair in Waltham, MA

Matthew O. of Waltham, Massachusetts has been experiencing leaks through the foundation of his basement. The cleanup process has become unbearable, and now he just simply wants to have peace of mind that his basement will stay dry. He trusted our Erickson team to get the job done right.

After reaching out to our Customer Care team, an appointment was scheduled with Design Specialist, Tom Armano. Tom went to Matthew's home to conduct a free home inspection. After discussing a variety of options that best accommodated Matthew's needs, Tom suggested installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage, TrenchLock trench drain, and an UltraSump sump pump. This system is designed to capture water along the perimeter of the foundation, block radon gas and odors, and pump the unwanted water safely out of the house. Our installation crew started work by chipping out the perimeter of the basement to make room for the WaterGuard system. Once concrete was removed, the WaterGuard system was installed within crushed stone. The TrenchLock system then connected to the WaterGuard system, all connecting to the SuperSump. A basin was built for the sump pump system to rest in. Once installed, everything was cemented in place. An exterior discharge line was plumbed to the SuperSump in order to allow the water to safely exit the home. Attached to that discharge line was IceGuard. IceGuard prevents the line from freezing which offers an additional guarantee that the piping won't back up and flood the basement.

With these systems installed, Matthew can put the shop vacuum away. His basement will now remain dry all the time!

Perimeter Drainage Installation to Finished Basement, Waltham, MA

Sadye E. had concerns about water puddling in her finished basement. She was sick of changing wet rags daily and wanted to protect her investment. In order to do this, she wanted to make sure the job was done right. That's why she reached out Erickson Foundation Solutions.

Our Design Specialist Mark Proctor met with Sadye to conduct a free home inspection. After thoroughly inspecting the basement, Mark recommended installing WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system, and our TripleSafe sump pump. Already satisfied with the sump pump she owned; Sadye chose to have our WaterGuard system installed in the basement. Our installation crew chipped around the perimeter of the basement foundation to allow space for the drainage system. Once WaterGuard was in place, it was connected to the existing sump pump and cemented into the foundation.

With this waterproofing system installed, water is captured before entering the home, diverted to the sump pump, and then expelled from the home. Now, Sadye has peace of mind knowing that her finished basement is protected.

Waterproofing A Leaky Basement, Waltham, MA

A homeowner in Waltham, Massachusetts has lived in his home for 30 years. Over the past year, he has noticed that one of the basement walls would leak whenever there were heavy rains. The problem would continue to get worse over time, and the homeowner wanted peace of mind. For someone who is getting older, the cleanup process was becoming too much of a hassle.

After meeting with our Design Specialist, we recommended installing our WaterGuard system, which filters water to the UltraSump. Our WaterGuard product captures water before making its way into the basement. Once that water gets to the UltaSump, it is pumped out of the house to a safe location. Within that UltraSump system, we also installed our IceGuard attachment, which allows the water to flow freely even if the pipes were frozen. Overall, this installation process guarantees a dry basement, while also preventing mold and reducing odors.

As a result, Paul was thrilled. Having a permanent basement waterproof system in place gives him the peace of mind he has been looking for.

Radon Mitigation for Home Purchase, Waltham, MA

Chris and his wife were in the closing stages of purchasing their first home, and after testing for radon they found the levels were 11.2 pCi/l. After coordinating with their realtor, they decided to hire a contractor and install a radon mitigation system soon after moving into the home. Part of their long-term plans involved remodeling the basement area and turning a portion of it into an office space. They wanted to have the radon mitigation system installed ahead of time so when the time came they could create their office space and not have to worry about radon levels in the basement.

After choosing our Erickson team for the installation of the radon mitigation system, the project installation date was set for about one month after Chris and his wife moved into the house. Crew foreman Nick Melo ensured the entire system was installed in a single day, with the work area kept clean and tidy upon completion.

With peace of mind that their radon levels are safer, the family was able to plan their office remodel project and settle into their new home.

Radon Mitigation in Finished Basement, Waltham, MA

This homeowner in Waltham, MA had been living in his home for 27 years. In recent years, he finished a portion of the basement to create an office space. In 2020 with the pandemic happening, his son was having to work from home and was able to use the office space in the house. As the son was going to be spending the majority of his days in that area, they decided to test for radon to ensure the quality of the air was safe. The levels came back at higher than the recommended 4.0 pCi/l, and so they reached out to Erickson for an estimate.

Ultimately they chose our Erickson team as the contractor for the radon mitigation system. Crew lead Scott Crandall was able to complete installation of the radon mitigation system in a single day. The homeowners were provided with a charcoal test kit upon completion, which allowed them to complete an independent follow-up test. They were pleased when the results came back with levels lower than 4.
