Homeowners in Georgetown, Massachusetts planned on making a playroom for their children in the basement. After getting the permitting to build, they learned that an egress window needed to be installed for the basement to be up to code. Looking for a company that could provide quality work at a reasonable price, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
Our Design Specialist, John Prince, recommended installing an egress window with a RockWell window well and cover. The egress window, paired with the well and cover, is designed to allow more natural light into the living space, while also providing a safe exit in the event of an emergency. The RockWell well system has built in steps and a strong, durable lid that prevents children, pets, and everything else from falling in.
With these systems installed, the homeowners can build their playroom knowing it will be a bright and safe space!
This early 1900's home in Amesbury, MA had three egress windows along one side of the house. During heavy rains, the shallow, old window wells would collect the water, eventually leading to leaking through the windows down into the basement. The owners reached out to our Erickson team to replace the window wells with an upgraded system, as well as install covers to help prevent rain from directly falling into the well space.
Our production specialists installed all three window well replacements and covers in a single day, and patched the owners asphalt driveway surrounding the wells. They took care to cleanly cutaway the existing asphalt material so that later their patching around the well would be clean and easy. Not only will the upgraded egress window system help keep water from leaking into the basement, but they look great from the outside of the home as well.
A homeowner in Peabody, MA was concerned with a section of their concrete where the patio behind the home adjoined the pool deck. The patio itself was the location of a table and some seating. When walking from this area to the deck towards the pool, the concrete joints had become uneven, as one of the sides settled. This section was unsightly and a bit of a trip hazard for friends and family.
Rather than replace all the concrete in this section, which would be costly and disruptive to their backyard, the homeowners were looking for alternative solutions. When they met with our team and learned about PolyLevel, they were thrilled. Our team completed the project in a single day, and were successful in lifting the concrete to the desired height. The trip hazard was no longer a concern, and the joints were sealed with NexusPro to create a more finished look.
A homeowner in Stratham, New Hampshire, is planning to sell their home in the next 5 years and wanted to address some concerns in their home before it goes on the market. One of those concerns was the crack in the foundation wall in the basement. They called EFS to come out to their home for a free inspection and our Design Specialist inspected the crack and also found that the foundation was bowing inward. Our Design Specialist recommended installing FlexiSpan over the crack and installed 5 PowerBraces to stabilize and straighten the foundation wall.
When the Stratham, NH homeowner noticed their broken sump pump system causing puddles on their basement floor, it was clear we needed to step in. As you can see in the before photo, the condition was not just unsightly but also damaging to the home's foundation. We replaced this faulty system with our robust TripleSafe Sump Pump, coupled with IceGuard and WaterGuard for optimal water management. The after photo showcases a dry, clean basement. We turned an unmistakable problem into a peace-of-mind solution, ensuring a lasting fix for our customer’s home.
