A homeowner in Alton, NH, with a young child, aims to convert their basement into a finished area, possibly a media room. Following a radon test, which revealed a level of 4.7 pCi/L—a figure exceeding the safe limit of 4.0 pCi/L—they sought to safeguard their home against this hazardous gas and reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions for assistance. Following a consultation with our System Design Specialist, we scheduled the project. The team successfully installed the radon mitigation system, which included an extraction point in the basement, a fan to circulate the gas, and PVC pipes extending from the basement to above the roofline. To ensure the home was safeguarded against radon, a manometer was installed in the basement to monitor any fluctuations in radon levels. With this protection in place, the family can now proceed to create the finished basement they have always envisioned.

This homeowner in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire needed to have their supports looked at in their crawlspace. They had issues with their floors sagging so they were interested in calling Erickson Foundation Supportworks to see what they could do.
Design specialist Paul Magowan confirmed the supports would need to be replaced, so he recommended they use SmartJacks in their crawlspace. Josh Provost was the Crew Lead on this project. He and his team installed the SmartJacks by digging out a hole under where each support would go and installed each over reinforced, engineered fill. The engineered fill is designed to spread the amount of weight the SmartJack is holding. The solution eliminated the sagging in the floor.
This home in Center Barnstead, New Hampshire, had some foundation issues that were found during an inspection of the home. EFS was contacted to provide a solution and our Design Specialist recommended installing Geolocks to support and straighten the cracked and bowing cinder block wall. Design Specialist Michael LaMalfa inspected the narrow crawlspace. Michael noticed some signs of moisture in the crawlspace but he also found early signs of mold too. Michael recommended installing Drainage Matting as a base layer of the crawlspace, then having CleanSpace installed over the Drainage Matting to seal out moisture from the crawlspace.
Crew Lead Nick Carelli and his team arrived at the home and entered the small crawlspace and installed Drainage Matting and CleanSpace.
