A homeowner in Rye, New Hampshire, recently had their home tested for radon gas, revealing a level of 7 pCi/L. Since levels above 4 pCi/L necessitate the installation of a radon mitigation system, this finding was particularly alarming, given that the homeowner's daughter's bedroom is in the finished basement. To address this urgent health concern, they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions for the prompt installation of a radon mitigation system to protect their residence.
Our System Design Specialist, Liam FitzPatrick, recommended installing our radon mitigation system, along with our Erickson Care Club service. The installation team began by creating an extraction point via a small circular cut in the basement's concrete floor for the radon mitigation system. They then attached a radon pipe to this point, extending it to the exterior of the home, where they mounted the radon fan on the side. They routed additional piping from the fan along the side of the house, extending it above the roof to avert radon re-entry. Following the operational integrity test of the fan, the homeowners were given a charcoal test kit to measure the radon levels after about one week.
The installation of the radon mitigation system has safeguarded this family from the hazardous gas.

Several sections of the concrete surrounding this inground pool in Mattapoisett, MA were dealing with settlement concerns. This one section near the entrance to a patio area was a terrible trip hazard, with a one inch difference between two concrete slabs. Our team was able to lift the sunken concrete and remove the trip hazard, creating a safer environment for this homeowner.
This homeowner in Carver, MA was wanting to make repairs to their concrete pool deck since it was uneven and the cracks were full of weeds. Our team injected PolyLevel beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize the sinking areas. We also cleaned up all the cracks and joints, then sealing them with NexusPro to help protect against more rain water from flowing underneath the concrete, which would lead to more erosion and settlement. With the repairs all made, the homeowners had a much better looking pool patio that was both safe and protected for years to come.
This homeowner in Marshfield, MA was looking for a solution to the concrete slabs outside their garage which had shifted and settled over the years. As the concrete sunk, the bump and seam leading from the driveway into the overhead doors was getting larger and becoming a hazard. Tearing out and replacing the driveway in order to fix the problem would be expensive and incredibly time consuming. They were pleased to learn our Erickson team had experience in lifting and leveling concrete with polymer material, a process which would not require removal of any existing concrete and would take just a day to complete.
Our team designed and proposed the ideal solution and installed PolyLevel to help the homeowner address their sunken concrete concerns. This process is similar to mudjacking, but more effective, cleaner, and quicker. The installation process involved drilling tiny dime sized port holes, injecting the polymer foam material as needed, and then sealing the concrete cold joints with a silicone based caulking called NexusPro.
The transformation of the concrete driveway was amazing. The settled areas of concern were lifted with ease and made access to the garage much safer. With the joints sealed and protected against further water intrusion, there is also much less risk of further settled being a concern for the homeowner. They were super pleased with the results and glad to have found a solution to fix their concrete settlement issues.
