The owner of a rental property in North Reading, Massachusetts, had a tenant moving out of their property. The building had a moisture problem in the crawlspace that the owner wanted to address. The owner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their crawlspace. Our Design Specialist Tom inspected the crawlspace and recommended using CleanSpace to encapsulate it and prevent moisture from building up. Our team arrived at the building and installed 1200 sqft of CleanSpace into the crawlspace.
In Wakefield, MA, our team tackled an environment where mold had found a foothold due to a failing moisture barrier in the crawl space. This not only created musty odors but also led to insulation falling from the joists. Erickson Foundation Solutions helped transform this crawl space by strategically installing SilverGlo, Drainage Matting, TerraBlock, and CleanSpace. These solutions provided a comprehensive moisture-proof barrier and insulation system, substantially enhancing air quality by reducing humidity and eliminating mold support, as visibly demonstrated in the attached after photo.
In the before photo, this Charlestown, MA home shows a crawl space with insufficient floor support, resulting in noticeable gaps and troublesome creaking sounds in the kitchen. As you can see in the after photo, our installation of the SmartJack® System effectively stabilized the crawl space beams and floor joists. By providing a solid foundation with engineered fill and adjustable galvanized steel columns cut to length, we lifted the kitchen floors closer to their original position, ensuring stability and reducing bounce. This comprehensive foundation repair offers a lasting, reliable solution.
