A homeowner in Groveland, Massachusetts wants to redo his kitchen but first noticed that his floors were sloping. Before he commits to investing in the kitchen, he wants to make sure the floors are properly supported in order to protect his investment.
Our Design Specialist, George Gouthier, recommended adding SmartJacks to stabilize the floor and support the home. These SmartJacks are similar to Lally columns but offer more support. They are installed by placing a galvanized steel plate in the foundation. The steel post attaches to plate and the above supplemental support beam. These posts are then cemented in place.
Now that the posts are installed, floors are stable and level. This homeowner can now confidently invest in his kitchen without experiencing issues down the road.
A homeowner in Rochester, New Hampshire just purchased their home a couple of weeks ago and has a list of things they would like to repair before they fully move into the home. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their crawlspace beneath their kitchen. They were concerned with the floor system in the crawlspace and potential moisture seeping into the home from that area. We inspected the crawlspace and recommended installing SmartJacks, CleanSpace, and a SaniDry Sedona into the crawlspace to stabilize the floor system below the kitchen and prevent moisture from collecting inside the crawlspace.
Our installation team installed 3 SmartJacks with a 16' Supplemental Beam, 288sqft of CleanSpace, and a SaniDry Sedona into the crawlspace to eliminate the concerns of the homeowners.
The owner of a late 1800s home in Exeter, New Hampshire, had reached out to EFS for an inspection of their crawlspace. They were concerned with the supports and their ability to hold up the floor system. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners and looked in the crawlspace. They recommended replacing the supports with 3 SmartJacks and a 12-foot supplemental beam. Our team installed the new supports and the homeowners were very happy they don't have to worry about the floor system.
