Our technicians removed a faulty waterproofing system that had previously existed within the home, and replaced it with our full-proof system, which is also backed by warranty. Once the WaterGuard and UltraSump were installed, these systems were secured in place with cement.

With the new systems in place, water will no longer get through cracks in the walls and floor. Christine will now be able to rent out her basement to a tenant who can enjoy a nice dry basement.

A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire recently purchased a flipped home. The homeowners believe that the flippers did a quick and cheap flip, and only addressed cosmetic issues. During the pre-purchase inspection, the inspector noticed a bounce on the main floors of the home. They recommended adding additional support in the basement where it looked like supports were removed and never replaced. 

After living in the home for a short while, the homeowners contacted EFS for a free inspection of their floors. Our Design Specialist, Isaac Hernandez, met with the homeowners, and inspected their floors, and basement to find a solution to stabilize the floor systems inside the home. After his inspection, Isaac recommended installing 11 SmartJacks in the basement under the beams to add support to the floor system of the 1920s home. 

Our installation team began by entering the dirt-floored basement and marking where each of the 11 supports would be installed. To support the posts on the dirt floor, we used our big plate footings. We submerged each footing below the dirt and then secured each SmartJack's adjustable bracket to the beam above. Once leveled, we adjusted the brackets to lift and level the floors above. 

After finishing the installation of all the supports, we took the homeowner on a final walkthrough to answer any questions they had. The homeowner was very pleased with the result of the project.

A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire, has lived in the home since the 1980s. Since right before covid the homeowner had noticed water leaking into the basement and causing damage to their finished rooms. They called EFS to have us inspect their basement and find them a solution to prevent water from entering the basement. Our Design Specialist Liam Fitzpatrick met with the homeowner and asked them questions about the water that enters their basement. After their conversation, Liam began inspecting the basement to find a solution to keep the basement dry. Liam recommended installing a sump pump, perimeter drainage, a humidifier, and exterior drainage to the home so we could eliminate the threat of water entering the basement. 

Our installation team began by chipping out 45 feet of concrete along the perimeter of the basement so we could create a trench and basin for our drainage and sump pump to lay in. Our team installed 45 feet of WaterGuard and linked it to our TripleSafe sump pump. The WaterGuard will collect water from below the slab and from the wall and guide the water to the sump pump basin where one of our three TripleSafe pumps will pump the water outside. We plumbed the three pumps to the exterior of the home where we installed 2 IceGuards and a 35-foot buried Exterior Drainage Line to carry the water away from the foundation of the home. After the exterior drainage was installed, the team mixed concrete and poured it over the drainage and around the sump pump basin. The concrete cured, and then the team installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier which will control the humidity in the basement to prevent odor, mold, and dry rot. Lastly, the system was flood-tested to make sure everything was operational.

Once the system was confirmed to be working perfectly, the team did a walkthrough with the homeowner to explain the features of the system and answer any questions. The homeowner was very pleased with the installation and did not have to worry about water entering their basement. 

A resident of Hudson, New Hampshire has lived in their home from the 1960s for the past 40 years. This year, they have had to deal with an increased amount of water collecting on their basement floor, which they found frustrating to clean up after every rainstorm. Seeking a solution, they contacted EFS for a free basement inspection. One of our Design Specialists, John Prince, conducted the inspection and recommended a perimeter drainage system to prevent water from entering the basement. 

Our Installation Team, led by Steve Dumais, began by chipping out a trench around the perimeter of the basement, roughly 6" wide and extending 90'. They then removed enough dirt from the trench to install our WaterGuard below the slab, which collects water and directs it to our TripleSafe system in one of the corners. The TripleSafe pumps the water out of the basement through an exterior drainage line, complete with an IceGuard. The team then poured concrete over the WaterGuard and around the base of the TripleSafe to lock it into place. Finally, they installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier and set the discharge line into the basin of the sump pump. 

The homeowners were thrilled with the results of the project and can now rest assured that they won't have to deal with water collecting in their basement anymore.

A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for the past 10 years. Over the past decade, they have noticed water pooling in their garage during heavy rains. The homeowners wanted to stop the water from settling in the garage so they decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their garage. Our Design Specialist Liam inspected the garage and recommended installing PolyLevel to make the garage level and pitched toward the front of the garage. 

Our installation team began by drilling small port holes into the garage slab. They drilled the port holes in a grid pattern around the garage so they could lift and level the slab without fear of cracking it. After all the holes were drilled, the team used our PolyLevel rig to inject poly beneath the slab and begin leveling and pitching the slab. Once the team hit all of the holes with PolyLevel, the team double-checked the slab for the correct pitch toward the front of the garage. When they confirmed that everything was correct the team then cleaned up the excess PolyLevel and then filled the portholes with universal concrete to make them disappear.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project. They haven't seen any water collecting in the garage since Erickson came out and fixed there garage slab. 

A homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire, had been living in their home for 8 years. Just over a year ago, the homeowners noticed some cracking in their foundation wall and some rodents finding their way into the crawlspace. The homeowner had found that the cracks have gotten larger and more rodents have appeared over the past year. Our production team began by outlining each crack with tape and then they will clear the crack of any moveable debris. After the team outlines the cracks and cleaned them out they will then begin installing the crack injection. Then the team installed crack injection on the larger cracks. The team used an expanding foam to seal the crack to prevent rodents from entering from the cracks. After the crack injection was installed the team then used NexusPro to seal the smaller cracks.

The homeowner was very happy that the cracks in their foundation wall were sealed and weren't going to allow rodents into the crawlspace anymore.

Our production team began by drilling portholes into the slab. They then used our PolyLevel rig to inject poly through the portholes. The team injected enough poly under the slab to fill the void and stabilize it. After the team filled the void under the entire slab they covered all of the portholes with concrete.

They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. A Design Specialist inspected the home and designed a radon mitigation system to mitigate the radon in the home. The specialist system included 2 extraction points to allow for the most amount of radon to be mitigated.

This homeowner recently purchased their home in Hudson, New Hampshire. During the pre-purchase inspection, the inspector noticed there were some cracks in the foundation wall in the garage and the basement. These cracks worried the new homeowners, so they called EFS for a free inspection. 

Senior Design Specialist Michael LaMalfa inspected the home. Michael found those same cracks in the basement and found that the wall is cracking because hydrostatic pressure is pushing in on the wall and causing it to crack. The homeowners are fortunate to have caught this as early as they did. If this is left untreated for months or years the wall could become unstable and collapse. Michael recommended installing PowerBraces to the wall and sealing the cracks in the foundation walls.

This homeowner in Hudson, New Hampshire was experiencing a crack in their garage slab and the slab was now sinking. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. 

Design Specialist Jason Vachon arrived at the home inspected the home and confirmed what the homeowner already knew. There is a 22' crack across the garage and the back of the garage is sinking around .875" to 1.25". Jason recommended using PolyLevel to lift and level the garage slab, and then once the slab is level seal the cracks using Crack Sealant.

Homeowner Jason P. in Hudson, New Hampshire was experiencing a leak in his basement. Every time it rained Jason would see water coming into their basement. It had gotten so bad the homeowners stopped storing things in their basement so they wouldn't get ruined by the water.

Design Specialist John Prince came to the home and was tasked with finding out where the water is entering the basement. He found out that the water was entering through a crack where the wall meets the floor. 

Crew Lead Branden Edwards and his team came to the home and installed a Fast Drain and a Sump pump into the basement. This allows for the Sump Pump and Fast Drain to stop the build-up of water.

The Shepherds Hill condominium complex was built in the early 2000s in Hudson, NH. The complex is comprised of attached condo units, which rest upon a hilltop overlooking Benson Park. One of the buildings began showing signs of settling about 12 years ago, and over the years gradually got worse. The homeowners of the two separate condos in this building, Mike B. and David M. knew they needed to take action to repair the foundation, and began their search for possible, cost-effective solutions to stabilizing their shared foundation. Windows and doors in both units were sticking, there were large cracks in the slab on the lower levels, and cracks were also found in the drywall throughout both units, all signs of foundation settlement.  For the homeowners, it was crucial they made the necessary repairs (permanently), as one was moving away and looking to rent the home, and the other was looking to sell within a few years' time.

Erickson Foundation Supportworks had previously done foundation repair work for the property management group tied to Shepherd's Hill, and so were one of the companies to submit proposals for addressing the settlement issue. Being hired for the job, the production crew was led by Stavros Charalambous, who began the task of installing 31 Push Piers around the entire perimeter of the building, as each side of the structure was sinking. In the front of the structure, the settlement was about 1 inch, while in the rear, the structure had settled 2 3/4 inches. 

To install a push pier system, the soil is first removed to expose the foundation footing where the pier will be driven. A heavy-duty steel bracket is then installed below the footing. Next, rugged, interlocking steel pier sections are hydraulically driven through the bracket until bedrock or stable soil is reached. The weight of the home is then transferred through the piers to this load-bearing soil. Once this has been completed, it's possible to attempt to lift the foundation, elevating the settled foundation back to its original position. Once the homeowner and installing contractor are satisfied with the stabilization or amount of lift, the soil can be backfilled. The structure is then permanently stabilized in its new position.

On the day of the lift, both homeowners were home and tested windows and doors throughout the process. Both were amazed and thrilled to see windows and doors, which had been sticking or jammed for years, be operating and functioning correctly once again. The lift was successful, and with the foundation permanently stabilized, the interior drywall damage could then also be repaired. For David M., looking to rent his condo, he felt relieved knowing that there were no longer any structural issues for him to deal with while he prepared to move. For homeowner Mike B., he was glad to know that having a stabilized foundation, with a transferable warranty for the Push Pier system, was going to make selling his condo home that much easier.

Inheriting a family home comes with its challenges, especially when the home is in desperate need of repairs. For Sharon H., the home she inherited in Hudson, NH from her father was in need of structural repairs to the foundation and slab of the attached garage. Over time the slab was settling, and the soil beneath the slab was pushing downwards against the foundation walls beneath it, forcing them to lean out. There was also a large crack along a seam where an old foundation used to adjoin the garage, and at the seam, the soil was gradually pouring out. With leaning walls and a sinking slab, the garage was at risk of completely collapsing. Sharon saw a commercial for Erickson Foundation Supportworks on WMUR TV and called to schedule an inspection and learn more about possible solutions for repairing her foundation problem.

After a thorough inspection, Erickson Foundation Supportworks proposed GeoLock wall anchors to straighten and stabilize the leaning walls. Additionally, the slab in the garage was thin and brittle, and since part of the GeoLock installation process would involve some excavation within the garage, Sharon decided it was also best to replace the entire 12' x 12' slab. 

GeoLocks are an innovative wall anchor system, permanently stabilizing foundation walls by anchoring the walls to the hard-packed soil beyond the foundation wall. After installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten the foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. 

Erickson Foundation Supportworks installed 3 GeoLock anchors on the right side of the foundation wall beneath the garage to permanently stabilize the wall against leaning out further. The wall was also straightened a significant amount, as the soil on the other side was excavated to allow some movement. There were also 3 GeoLock anchors installed on the rear wall beneath the slab, which was also stabilized and straightened. 

In situations where there is compact or virgin soil on the other side of a leaning foundation wall, GeoLock anchors are the ideal solution for stabilizing, and in some cases straightening the wall. Sharon was thrilled to see the improvements and relieved to know her garage is no longer at risk of losing its foundation stability.

The foundation of this 1970's home was installed without a proper footing. Gradually sinking over the years, causing windows and doors to stick along the way, eventually settled 7 inches. With the potential to continue sinking, the homeowner needed to address the issue.

Push piers were used to lift and stabilize the structure. The piers were successfully able to lift the home 3 inches (anymore would have affected plumbing or caused severe cracking). With the push piers being so deep into the earth, it is unlikely the home will ever settle again.

Additionally, spray foam, similar to our PolyLevel product, was applied to the foundation wall and soils surrounding it, it order to provide some frost protection. Frost causes heaving and other harmful effects to the foundation, so this was also a crucial step to address.

Lastly, this home also received an air radon mitigation system. It will be much easier to sell the home now that it is much better protected.
