Crack Repair and Waterproofing, Marblehead, MA Crack Repair and Waterproofing, Marblehead, MA

A homeowner was in search of a way to waterproof the basement so it could be turned into a 1/2 bedroom and 1/2 storage space. Without a waterproofing system in place, water would leak through cracks in the slab and puddle around the foundation. This homeowner reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to eliminate water from the basement permanently.

After completing a free inspection, our Design Specialist recommended installing our SuperSump sump pump, NexusPro joint repair, and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This system stops water from being able to enter the basement and safely removes it away from the home. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant that seals joints and cracks in your concrete slab and helps prevent the water from softening and/or eroding the soil underneath. The SuperSump sits at the lowest point of the basement cemented in a basin and pumps water out of the home through an exterior drainage line. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier removes moisture and other toxins in the air and creates a dry and comfortable climate. This is a great product for those planning on living in the basement.

With all of the systems in place, this homeowner can confidently execute the plans made for the basement knowing that it will be safe and dry.

Sunken and cracked concrete around your home is not only an eyesore but is also a safety hazard. As time goes by, if the problem isn’t corrected, it will only get worse. However, you have no reason to fret when you have the professionals at Erickson Foundation Solutions doing the work. Our experts use PolyLevel, a strong, and durable foam material to lift your concrete slabs back into place. Radon Gas Mitigation Systems

Radon gas is colorless, odorless, and as cancer-causing as to//bacco and asbestos. Radon gas is produced from the decaying of rocks and soil and comes up from the ground into your crawlspace and basements. The way our radon mitigation systems works in a pipe collects the gases that are coming from the soil. The gas is then piped upwards where a depressurization vent forces the radon out from your home. Our radon mitigation system is completely compatible with the current waterproofing system in your home. Get in contact with us now to learn how to protect your loved ones from the harmful effects of radon gas.

Job Stories From Marblehead, MA
Adding Perimeter Drainage to Sump Pump in Marblehead, MA

Jim C. of Marblehead, Massachusetts no longer wants to deal with the cleanup process that comes with his wet basement.  Water enters the basement through foundation walls and causes puddling on the basement floor. Although Jim already owns a sump pump, there is no means of drainage to filter water to it. This leaves the basement still at risk. Looking for peace of mind that his basement will stay dry, he reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.

After speaking to our Customer Care team, an appointment was scheduled with our System Design Specialist, Gerald Martin. Gerald recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and TrenchDrain surface drainage. This system collects water along the edge of the foundation and delivers it to the sump pump basin. Our installation crew, led by Mike Lyall, chipped out concrete along the basement wall to allow space for WaterGuard to be installed. The system was set within crushed stone to allow proper flow to the sump pump. TrenchDrain was installed to veer water around the water heater. It was connected to the WaterGuard system to create one continuous flow of water. This drainage system was then connected to the sump basin, where water could then be pumped out of the home by the previously installed sump pump.

Now that the basement is waterproofed, Jim has the peace of mind that he has been searching for. After Mike performed a final walkthrough with him, he was thrilled with the result!

Laundry Room Leak Repair in Marblehead, MA

Julie W. of Marblehead, Massachusetts just had her laundry room finished. Although a sump pump was already installed in that room, water still leaked through the foundation. This created a long and frustrating cleanup process. Looking to keep the laundry room in her basement dry all the time, she reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.

After receiving Julie's call, our Customer Care team scheduled an appointment for our System Design Specialist, Liam FitzPatrick, to go out to the home and complete a free home inspection. Liam recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and our TripleSafe sump pump. After further discussion with Julie, we found that the best solution to fit her needs would be connecting WaterGuard to the already existing sump pump. Our installation crew chipped out concrete along the edge of the foundation to make space for the drainage system to be installed. Once installed, it was connected to the existing sump pump. This system collects water at the base of the foundation, safe from the floor and walls, and delivers it to the sump basin. Water is then pumped out of the home through a discharge line. After the system is tested, it is cemented in place.

Now that the laundry room is waterproofed, Julie can do her laundry in peace.

Floors Sagging After Lally Column was Removed, Marblehead, MA

The owner of a home in Marblehead, Massachusetts, has lived in their 1950s home for the past 50 years. About 30 years ago they removed a lally column in their finished basement. Over the 30 years, it's been removed the floor has sagged and lost some stability. A heart attack has prevented one of the homeowners from being able to go into the basement so they didn't notice how bad the problem has gotten till now. They reached out to EFS for a free inspection, and our Design Specialist Liam recommended installing two lally columns into the basement to add support to the floor above.

Our installation team began by exposing the floor in their finished basement. Then we chipped out some concrete to pour a footing that our lally column can rest on. After the footing cured the team then exposed the ceiling and attached the lally columns to the beam above. Once secured the team poured new concrete around the base of the lally column to lock it in place. After the concrete cures, the carpet will be put back in place.

The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project.

Floors Sloping in Early 1900s Home, Marblehead, MA

A homeowner in Marblehead, Massachusetts, had purchased their home about a year ago. As soon as they moved into the home they noticed the floors on the main floor were sloping. Since they noticed the sloping floors the problem has increased to showing interior cracks around the house. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection. Our Design Specialist Kenny recommended installing SmartJacks into the basement to add support to the main level of the home and level the floors.

Our production team began by removing small sections of the wooden floor where each of our SmartJack footings will be installed. Under the wood was concrete which the team had to chip out. The team removed the concrete and removed some dirt so our footing could fit flush under the concrete. After each hole could fit our footing the team then started fitting the SmartJacks into the footings. Once the SJs and the footings were together the team then propped up our Supplemental beams against the floor joists using some manpower and some cord so the team could attach the SmartJacks to the Supplemental beam. The team attached our adjustable bracket to the SmartJacks and the Supplemental beam by using GRK screws. Once everything was secured the team then used the adjustable bracket to start lifting up the floor above until it was level. After the floor was leveled the team mixed and poured concrete over the footings of the new support to lock them in place and eliminate any tripping hazards.

The homeowner was very pleased with the installation of the new floor supports. They no longer have to worry about the sloping of their floors.
