This homeowner in Windham, NH had a crack in their foundation wall, which had been patched over the years, but still let in moisture. They needed a more permanent fix. We sealed the crack with a polyurethane injection, which expands inside the crack as a foam and reaches far into the cravice to prevent the water from coming through. The surface of the crack is then coated with an epoxy to add an extra layer of protection. This two part system guarantees no further moisture will come in through the foundation crack.

This seasonal cottage on Cobbetts Pond in Windham, NH was suffering from sagging floors, settlement, and unstable soils. Water was constantly running down a hill toward the home and the lake just beyond it. As water flowed through the soil beneath the home, the concrete piers and wood posts settled over time. The home needed more permanent stabilization if it was going to last.

Erickson Foundation Supportworks installed EZ Post helical piers around the perimeter of the home. SmartJack columns were also installed beneath to replace concrete piers and rotten wood posts.

Reliable Foundation & Concrete Repair in Windham

Water doesn't just enter your home through a leaky basement. It can also enter through a compromised foundation or any damaged concrete slab. This can include garage floors, driveways, pool decks, steps, and sidewalks. Cracked, heaving concrete can cause fall risks and allow water to pool due to the unevenness, potentially making your home unsafe. Erickson Foundation Solutions will repair and level sagging, cracked, crumbling concrete in and around your home with efficient, durable solutions.

Concrete repair solutions offered:

  • Concrete lifting and leveling with lightweight PolyLevel®
  • Concrete sealing with one application of SealantPro™
  • Tinted concrete sealer with DecoShield™

Poor soil quality can contribute to foundation damage. Softening soil, shrinkage, and poorly compact soil can cause your foundation to shift and crack, leaving your home susceptible to damage. Even newly constructed homes are vulnerable to foundation resettlement as housing developments loosen dirt and expand roads that cause the street to creep, putting pressure on your driveway, yard, and foundation. If you are experiencing any of the following signs, call the experts at Erickson Foundation Solutions today before the problem worsens:

  • Cracked brick
  • Sticking windows & doors
  • Cracked or bowing walls
  • Sagging floors
  • And more!

Erickson Foundation Solutions offers long-term solutions to waterproof your foundation, fix cracks and support bowing walls. Backed by the Supportworks Network- They use only the strongest industry products to protect your foundation from the inside out, reinforcing your basement against exterior pressures and inward movement.

Cracks Growing in Garage Foundation, Windham, NH

A homeowner in Windham, New Hampshire has owned their home for the past three years. After moving in, they noticed a crack in the foundation wall of their garage. Over the last six months, the crack has grown larger, and they feel like they should address the issue before they sell the home in a couple of months.

The homeowner researched companies in the area to repair foundations and found Erickson Foundation Solutions. They called us for a free inspection of their garage foundation, and our Design Specialist Bryan Barnard met with the owners to inspect the foundation and propose a long-term solution.

During his inspection, we found that the foundation walls were bowing, which was causing the crack to grow larger. After the inspection, Bryan recommended installing eight Geolocks along the back and right of the garage to stabilize the foundation walls. We also suggested installing our Hide-A-Way Covers to conceal the anchors and installing a new garage slab afterward.

Our Installation Team, led by Eric Witham, began by chipping out all of the concrete inside the garage to create a trench for the Geolock Anchors. Once the two trenches were installed, the team drilled holes through the foundation wall so we could extend a rod from the foundation wall through the soil and into the trench. After the rods were driven into the trench, we installed plates on both sides of the rod, Hide-A-Way Covers to the outside, and began tightening them.

Tightening the rods began to pull the walls back in and prevent further bowing. After all of the Geolocks were tightened, we backfilled the trench inside the garage and leveled the dirt inside. Finally, we ordered a delivery of concrete to pour a new garage floor.

The homeowners had to wait for the garage to fully cure before placing all of their belongings back into the garage. However, they were very happy with the results of the project and were now confident in putting their home on the market.

Radon Levels Increasing in Home, Windham, NH

This homeowner in Windham, New Hampshire, has lived in their home for about 6 months. When they moved in the home inspector tested the radon in the home and the levels were around 4.6 pCi/L, now 6 months later the homeowner want to have a radon system installed and they tested the home again and the results came back at 7.7 pCi/L. The homeowners have their grandma stay over at their home up to 4 times a year so they would like to have a radon system installed in their home to lower the radon levels in their home. They called EFS for a free inspection and our Design Specialist Josh recommended and designed a radon mitigation system to be installed into the home.

Our installation team began by creating an extraction point in the slab in the basement to pull radon-filled air from beneath the home. Next, the team installed a PVC pipe to carry the radon to the exterior of the home where we connect the PVC pipe to a fan. The team installed the fan to the side of the home and connected the PVC pipe to the fan so it can push the radon away from the home.

The homeowner was very pleased with the installation of the radon mitigation system.

Cracked and Sunken Pool Deck, Windham, NH

A homeowner in Windham, New Hampshire, had a pool deck that was 40 years old and was showing its age. The pool deck had become cracked and sunken since it was installed in the 1980s. The homeowners planned to use this home as their retirement home. They wanted to improve the appearance of the pool deck so they called EFS. Our design specialist Michael B. recommended installing PolyLevel and NexusPro around the pool deck to lift, level, and seal the cracks on the pool deck.

Our production team first started by drilling small port holes in a grid pattern around the pool deck. The team used the port holes to inject PolyLevel under the pool deck. Short bursts of PolyLevel allowed the team to slowly and precisely lift each slab until they were level. After the team lifted and leveled all of the slabs around the pool, they then moved to use NexusPro to seal the joints and crack repair. The team had to use almost 500 feet of NexusPro to seal all of the joints and cracks on the pool deck.

The team was able to lift, level, and seal the pool deck to improve its appearance. The homeowner no longer has to worry about the pool deck sinking.

Concrete Wall Repair, Windham, NH

The owner of this property on Cobbetts Pond in Windham, New Hampshire knew when he bought the home that eventually the concrete walls of the boathouse would need to be repaired. There were visible, large cracks on the wall which faced the water. There was slight settlement, and the walls in general were shifting more and more each year. He reached out to a number of foundation repair contractors but in the end found only Erickson Foundation Supportworks had the right team and the right solution. And rather than wait for the situation to get worse, the time had come to fix it.

Our inspection specialist David Cormier viewed the walls and designed a system utilizing 8 GeoLock wall anchors, as well as 6 Helical Piers. Together these anchors and piers would prevent the walls of the foundation from any further movement. The challenge for the production team was having to work in the frigid pond water in the late autumn months. With the right equipment and a 'can do' attitude, the crew worked diligently to install the system.

The concrete walls of this boathouse are now permanently stabilized, and the homeowner can now continue to preserve this small piece of New Hampshire history.
