In Providence, RI, a concerned homeowner sought our expertise after a carpenter noticed unstable makeshift supports in their crawl space, risking the structure above. In the before photo, it's evident that the temporary solutions weren't effectively supporting the floors. We addressed this by installing our SmartJack® System, visible in the after photo. This system created a stabilized environment since SmartJack stabilizes crawl space beams and floor joists by distributing the home’s weight using galvanized steel columns. Our reliable solution ensures enhanced structural integrity and stability for the home.
The concrete apron leading to a raised garage floor was cracked at the mid point and sunk about 2-3in on one side. The slab is 8 feet long and 18 ft wide with a slope up of 1ft from the gravel drive to the wooden garage floor. The slab is cracked and sunken on the left half, which has been undermined by poor drainage from the adjoining barn.
This homeowner in Concord, Massachusetts had some concerns with the back wall of their garage as it was cracked and bowing out. They called Erickson to find a permanent fix to these issues. Design specialist John Prince proposed Geolock wall anchors to stabilize the wall. Crew lead Josh Provost and his team installed the Geolocks and the wall is no longer at risk of bowing or failing. There are also cover plates over the Geolocks to be a bit more appealing to the eye on the outside of the house in that location.
A homeowner of a 1950s home in Concord, Massachusetts, recently purchased the home in June of 2022. The previous homeowner told them that water leaked into the basement near the bulkhead. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our design specialist recommended installing a perimeter drainage system in the basement to collect water entering the basement and send it to a sump pump which will push the water through the drainage line to the exterior of the home.
Our team installed WaterGuard, Trench Drain, UltraSump, IceGuard, and a SaniDry into the home.
This homeowner is a member of our annual maintenance program, the Erickson Care Club. During their annual check-up, our service technician completely disassembled the sump pump system in order to clean the pump, the basin, and other various components. Through regular maintenance and cleaning, the lifespan of this waterproofing system is extended for several years, ensuring the basement in this Concord home will continue to stay dry. This photo series highlights the difference after thoroughly cleaning the float which lies in the basin, and shows the significance of needing to remove debris from the system which collects over time .
