This homeowner in Lexington, MA was looking for a contractor to make some repairs in the crawlspace beneath their home. The floors were sagging and a little creaky, and so the support columns needed to be replaced and upgraded to something more substantial. They were also concerned with the dirt floor in the crawlspace, as this was effecting the air quality in their home. 

Our team reinforced the floor system and support beams with our patented SmartJack system, steel support posts with wide bases and adjustable brackets. Once the SmartJack columns were in place and the beams were permanently stabilized, the dirt floor of the crawlspace was then also covered with Cleanspace vapor barrier. This encapsulation system will help control humidity levels, improve air quality (prevents dust and mites), and create an all around cleaner crawlspace for the homeowners.

As seen in the photo, the existing stairs could no longer meet code requirements due to settlement. We swiftly addressed the problem by demolishing and safely removing the old structure. Our team then formed and poured a durable concrete riser as the sturdy foundation for replacement. In the 'after' photo, notice the carefully installed new precast stairs, ensuring compliance and reliability. This repair enhances safety and improves the long-term stability of the property.

After moving into their newly purchased home, these owners wished to make several upgrades and improvements. One of the first items they needed to fix were their uneven, sloping floors. The basement was full of temporary jacks and wood columns, which were not properly supporting the floor.
