A homeowner in Beverly, Massachusetts, purchased their home less than a month ago and had noticed cracks in the drywall on the main level of the home. The cracks were located above doorways and on walls.
The homeowners didn't know what was happening so they reached out to EFS for a free inspection of their home. Our Design Specialist met with the homeowners and looked at the main level and basement of the home to determine what was causing the cracks. Our specialist found that the floor system in the areas of the cracks was not supported enough. They recommended installing 3 SmartJacks in the basement. The SmartJacks will add support to the floor system where it lacks strength. The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project.
A homeowner in Beverly, Massachusetts had water seepage in their basement every time there were heavy rains. The annoying cleanup process was becoming too much to handle. Thinking about selling the home down the line, this homeowner wanted to waterproof the basement to protect their investment.
Our Design Specialist, George Gouthier, went to the home to conduct a free home inspection. After discussion with the homeowner, he recommended installing our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system and SuperSump sump pump. This system collects water before being exposed to the foundation walls and floor, and then pumps the unwanted water out of the home through an exterior discharge line. This before and after showcases the exterior discharge line that was buried. IceGuard, which can be seen in the top left of the after photo, is attached to the discharge line to allow water to flow freely despite freezing temperatures. This system eliminates the possibility of frozen pipes. It is essential that water can flow freely through the exterior discharge line, or else there is a possibility of pipes backing up and flooding the basement. The location of the exterior discharge line is also important. Our installation crew places the exterior discharge line in a location where water will safely stay away from the home.
