A homeowner from Nashua, New Hampshire has consistently experienced leaks in his finished basement. The carpet gets damp and creates an uncomfortable living space, especially since the basement is his workspace. This has also raised mold concerns. Looking for peace of mind, the homeowner reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions.
We recommended installing WaterGuard perimeter drainage and our TripleSafe sump pump system to waterproof the basement. This waterproofing system intercepts water along the entire border of the foundation and pumps it safely out of the home. Our crew installed this system by first chipping out concrete along the perimeter of the basement. This allowed space for the WaterGuard system to be put in place. Simultaneously, a basin was created for the TripleSafe sump pump system to sit in. Once debris from the chipping were removed, the WaterGuard and TripleSafe were put into place on top of crushed stone. They were then cemented into the foundation. An exterior drainage line was then added to the sump pump system. This plumbing allows the sump pump to dispose the water outside of the home. IceGuard was added to that plumbing to prevent pipes from freezing in extreme temperatures.
With all these systems in place, a waterproofed basement has been created. After going through the final walkthrough with the homeowner, he was thrilled that he finally has a clean and dry workspace!
