A homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts, had concerns with the air quality in their basement affecting the air in the rest of their home. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection of their basement. Our Design Specialist/ Service Technician Branden Edwards met with the homeowner and walked through the basement with them to discuss their concerns. After a lengthy conversation with the homeowner, Branden recommended installing an ERV system to improve the air quality in the home. 

Our Installation Team led by Branden Edwards began by setting up our harness for the ERV system on one of the walls in the basement. After the harness was set up, the team installed the ERV into the harness and then proceeded to set up the different pipes to carry out the old air and replace it with clean outside air. The team installed one pipe to bring in fresh air and one to remove old stagnant air from the basement. The team installed each of the pipes to either a hole in the foundation wall/ siding of the home or through an egress window.

The system continuously brings clean air into the basement and pushes the old air out to improve the overall air quality in the basement. 

A homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts, had water entering the basement of their 1930s home. The homeowners store things in the basement and water them to be protected from any water. The homeowners decided to call EFS for a free inspection of the basement. Our Design Specialist Liam recommended installing a full perimeter drainage system into the basement to eliminate any water from entering the basement and keeping it dry all the time!

Our installation team arrived at the home and first began by chipping out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and around the old sump pump to fit our bigger and better sump pump. Once everything was chipped out, our team began installing our WaterGuard and our TripleSafe. The WaterGuard will collect any water that tries to enter the basement and will guide that water to our TripleSafe. The TripleSafe will then pump out the water away from the home so it cannot re-enter the home. After the system was installed and tested the team will then cover the system with a layer of concrete to lock it into place. 

The homeowner was very pleased with the results of the project.

A homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts, had lived in their home since 2011. In 2011 they were alerted to radon gas in their home. One of the homeowners does a lot of work in the basement so they decided to test it for radon. The test results came back at 4.4 pCi/L, the common recommendation is having the levels below 4.0. The homeowners decided to call a company near them that would install a radon mitigation system in their home. The homeowners called EFS our Design Specialist James visited with the homeowner and designed a radon system for their home. 

Our installation team started by creating an extraction point in the basement slab. We then used PVC piping to attach to the extraction point and guided that piping to the exterior of the home. Once the PVC pipe was brought to the exterior of the home, the team then installed our Radon Fan to the side of the home. Once attached to the side of the home the team connected the PVC pipe from the extraction point to the bottom of the fan and then attached more PVC to the top of the fan to vent the system above the roofline of the home. Venting the system above the roofline will prevent radon gas from re-entering the home. 

The homeowner was very pleased with the installation of the radon mitigation system. When the home was retested for radon the levels were well below the 4.0 pCi/L level. 

A homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts, had cracked in their cinder block foundation wall. The crack was horizontal and spanned the entire length of the front foundation wall. The homeowner had lived in this home for 20 years and over the last 3 years, they have noticed the crack becoming larger. The homeowner decided to call EFS for a free inspection, our design specialist recommended installing 7 PowerBraces to the interior foundation wall. 

Our production team started by installing metal L brackets to the base of the foundation wall. The L brack was installed to brace the bottom of the vertical beam that leans against the wall to prevent the wall from bowing. After the L bracket was installed the team started installing the upper bracket into the floor system of the home. Our brackets can be incorporated into any floor system doesn't matter the direction of the joists. Once the system is installed into the floor joists the team installs the metal I beam in between the L bracket and the wall and into the upper bracket system and began tightening each PowerBrace.

The PowerBraces added stability to the wall so the wall can't bow inward anymore. The homeowners were relieved they no longer have to worry about the crack in their basement getting worse. 

A homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts had an issue where their garage walls were bowing and buckling. The homeowner feared that the garage foundation was compromised. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. 

Our design specialist inspected the garage and recommended installing Push Piers and Geolocks to permanently stabilize the garage walls. 

The EFS crew installed 10 Push Piers and 2 Geolocks to stabilize the wall of the garage.

Our design specialist examined the garage slab. The design specialist recommended installing PolyLevel to lift the slab. 

The EFS crew injected PolyLevel under the slab in the garage. The crew lifted the slab back to flush where the wall meets the inside slab. 

This homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts had a cracked concrete pier under a support post. This post supports the addition of the home and the homeowner would like this fixed ASAP. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. 

Design Specialist Justin Wenners inspected the interior and exterior of the home. Justin carefully inspected the concrete pier. The pier had a considerable chunk taken off of the top. With the support post threatening to slip off, Justin recommended installing an EZ Post to where the current concrete pier is located. 

Crew Lead Chris Tremblay and his team removed the old concrete pier and installed the new EZ post where the old pier was. 

This homeowner in Westford, Massachusetts had moved into their home in 2014 but has a pool that was installed in 1987. The pool deck had been settling and causing tripping hazards. The homeowner would like to level the pool deck and seal all cracks in the deck. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection.

Design Specialist Michael Bradley inspected the pool deck and the surrounding area. Michael found some areas of the pool deck are sinking and the control joints need to be touched up. Michael recommended injecting PolyLevel under the slabs to lift and level them, then sealing the cracks and control joints with NexusPro and Backer Rod.

Crew Lead Nick Melo and his team arrived at the home and injected PolyLevel to lift and level the pool deck. Then Nick and his team went around the pool and sealed up all of the cracks and control joints. 

This business owner in Westford, MA noticed there were cracks and sand in the shop when the town was working on the road in front of the business. They decided to call EFS for a free inspection. 

Design Specialist John Prince inspected the business. John found some areas on the shop floor that have voids underneath them. He recommended injecting PolyLevel into the shop floor to fill the voids and stabilize the slab.
