The coping around this pool in North Andover had separated from the concrete pool deck as the patio settled over the years. When our team arrived, the concrete had settled up to 2 inches in some spots. This created a dangerous trip hazard around the perimeter of the pool.

After installation of PolyLevel, this joint was near level, and the trip hazard had disappeared. Rather than rip out and replace all the concrete, this solution was cost effective and quick, as repairs took a single day.

A homeowner in North Andover, MA has been experiencing flooding in their crawl space. This flooding has caused a good amount of damage, as well as mold and odors. Additionally, the crawl space was now struggling to support the rest of the home. This homeowner wanted a permanent solution to eliminate these issues, which is why he reached out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team.

After a free inspection with our Design Specialist, Nikki Burke recommended installing SmartJacks in the crawl space to withhold and support the structure. Installing a waterproofing system was also essential. In order to do this, our team installed our SmartSump, a sump pump system which collects all the unwanted water and disposes of it safely away from the home. In addition to this, CleanSpace is applied to encapsulate the space. Our Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier was also installed to prevent moisture and other undesirable qualities such as mold.

This crawl space was once wet, cold, moldy, and unstable. After installing these products, the crawl space has transformed into a dry and solid foundation. Without worry of water, air is healthy for the household and sagging floors have been restored. This homeowner was thrilled to say the least.

A homeowner from North Andover, Massachusetts is looking to build an addition to their home. Before doing so, the homeowner wanted to make sure that the structure of the home was properly supported. Noticing cracks in the basement foundation, this homeowner called Erickson Foundation Solutions to ensure their foundation walls were stabilized.

After scheduling an appointment for a free inspection, a Design Specialist came to the home and identified the issues that were occurring and discussed a range of solutions that works for the homeowner. We recommended installing GeoLock Wall Anchors and BrightWall. Our Geolock system works by installing galvanized steel plates to the wall, and anchoring them to strong and durable soil, thus stabilizing the wall. The BrightWall system is a 100% waterproof rigid plastic paneling for unfinished basement walls. It stops humidity and water vapor from passing through your basement walls, while turning the basement into a bright and beautiful space. Our installation crew installed these walls prior to the installation of the GeoLocks. To set up the GeoLock system, our crew dug a small trench outside of the home where durable soil was found. The anchoring system was drilled through the wall and soil, until reaching the trench. Then, the steel plate and anchor were screwed and tightened into place. Finally, Hide-A-Way covers are added to those steel plates to create an appealing finish.

With this system in place, the basement wall is now stable and can provide support to the rest of the home, including the addition that is planned to be added. Additionally, the basement will be a much more comfortable living space.

Job Stories From North Andover, MA
Basement Waterproofing in North Andover, MA

In North Andover, MA, we recently worked with a homeowner who was seeking peace of mind about their basement’s condition. Tired of constantly worrying about the potential for water damage, they reached out to us at Erickson Foundation Solutions.

Understanding their request for a solid, worry-free solution, our approach was hands-on and thorough from the beginning. First step was an in-depth home inspection carried out by our System Design Manager, Michael LaMalfa. During the visit, it was clear that the solution needed was multifaceted to ensure the basement remained dry and healthy all year round. We proposed installing our reliable WaterGuard system, a revolutionary interior drainage channel designed to effectively capture wall and floor seepage before it reaches the basement floor. Coupled with our CleanSpace wall membrane, an unbeatable duo was created that guards against moisture and humidity, while also giving the basement a clean, finished appearance. To encapsulate the solution, the SaniDry Sedona system, known for its powerful dehumidifying capabilities, was deployed to ensure the air remained dry and filtered, eliminating any possibility of mold or unpleasant odors. The production team worked diligently, turning the plan into reality with minimal disruption to the homeowner's daily life. Throughout the entire process, we focused not only on the technical installations but also on the cleanup, leaving the basement and the surrounding area looking pristine. The outcome was exactly what the homeowner had wished for—total peace of mind. The systems worked in conjunction to create a dry, healthful basement environment free of the worry and hassle that had clouded their enjoyment of the home. With these improvements, we’ve not only reinforced the foundation of their house but also the foundation of their comfort and satisfaction.

Preventing Increased Water in Basement, North Andover, MA

Thersea M. of North Andover, Massachusetts had leaks in her basement whenever there were heavy rains. The amount of water that came into the home had significantly increased over the past year. Thersea was annoyed with the cleanup process and was looking for a permanent solution to solve her wet basement issues.

She contacted our Customer Care team to schedule a free inspection of her home. Our Design Specialist, Tom Armano, provided a thorough 90-minute inspection and offered solutions that worked for Thersea. He recommended a waterproofing system composed of WaterGuard perimeter drainage, our TripleSafe sump pump, and CleanSpace vapor barrier. This system works by intercepting water at the perimeter of the basement with our WaterGuard system, directing it towards the TripleSafe sump pump, and then pumping it out of the home through a drainage line. The CleanSpace vapor barrier acts as an encapsulation system that eliminates the negative effects from condensation provides a form of insulation.

Our installation crew installed the system and made sure to leave a clean workspace. After everything was completed, Thersea was thrilled to have peace of mind that her basement will remain dry.

Adding Support to the Foundation Using SmartJacks, North Andover, MA

Debra D. is looking to sell her home in North Andover, Massachusetts. Before selling the house, she wants to make sure the structure is properly supported since she has noticed sagging and uneven floors. This is very important for the home selling process. Debra reached out to our Erickson Foundation Solutions team so that we could address these concerns and offer a solution that works for her.

In order to best accommodate Debra's needs, one of our Design Specialists went to the home to complete a free inspection. He recommended installing SmartJacks in the basement. These steel beams provide excellent support and are a permanent solution for withholding a structure. Our installation crew installed two SmartJacks near the center of the basement. They are attached to a supplemental support beam and cemented in a sturdy base in the foundation.

With these two posts in place, support and stability is provided to the entire house. Our team was happy to provide a solution that allows Debra to protect her investment.

Basement Waterproofing, North Andover, MA

Christine and Kevin of North Andover, Massachusetts had been experiencing issues with their sump pump. They had installed a waterproofing system in hopes of being able to finish the basement, but water puddling in the basement every time it rained prevented them from doing so. They knew that this time they wanted a permanent fix, which is why they reached out to Erickson Foundation Solutions to protect their forever home.

The major components of Christine and Kevin's waterproofing system included the installation of WaterGuard perimeter drainage and TripleSafe sump pump system. Additionally, IceGuard was installed as well. The perimeter drainage captures water before entering the home, and filters to the TripleSafe sump pump. From there, water is pumped out through a drainage line. IceGuard is attached to that drainage line to ensure that water doesn't freeze, and water can continue to flow out of the home.

This waterproofing system will undoubtedly keep Christine and Kevin's basement dry and safe. We are happy to provide a solution that allows them to finish their basement.

Sump Pump Replacement, North Andover, MA

A homeowner in North Andover, Massachusetts, had a waterproofing system installed in their home about 30 years ago and the sump pump has officially died. The homeowners called EFS for a free inspection of their waterproofing system. Our Design Specialist Josh recommended installing NexusPro to seal some cracks in the basement and then replacing the old sump pump with a new SuperSump, IceGuard, and Exterior Drainage Line.

Our installation team began by removing the old sump pump. After the old sump was removed the team installed the new SuperSump into the hole where the old sump was installed. After the new sump was placed in the hole the team then plumbed the pump to the exterior of home, where we installed the IceGuard and the Exterior Drainage Line. After the pump was installed the team then mixed up concrete and poured it around the base of the sump to lock it in place. Finally, the team used NexusPro to seal 102' of cracks on the slab.

The homeowner was very pleased with the work that EFS did and plans to use them in the future to service their sump pump.

Added Pump After Annual Maintenance, North Andover, MA

A homeowner in North Andover, Massachusetts, had yearly maintenance with EFS scheduled. Our Service Technician Justin began cleaning out their system in the basement while conversing with the homeowner about how the pump had been working for them. The homeowner had talked to Justin about having a second sump pump installed on the other side of the basement with some drainage. Justin was able to make a work order and take a deposit so we could schedule a time for our waterproofing team to install the new sump pump and drainage.

Our Installation team began by chipping out a small section of concrete to install our new UltraSump. Once the concrete was chipped out, the team then removed dirt so we could place our sump basin into the hole and have the UltraSump flush with the floor in the basement. Our team then plumbed the sump pump to the exterior of the home where our team installed an IceGuard and a 10' Exterior Drainage Line to carry water away from the foundation of the home. After that, the team mixed up some concrete and poured it around the edges of the sump pump basin.

The homeowner was very pleased with the overall service of EFS.

Sudden Crack in Foundation, North Andover, MA

A homeowner in North Andover, Massachusetts, has lived in their home for the past 8 years. In the past month, they have noticed that there is a large crack in their foundation wall. They called EFS for a free inspection and our design specialist found that the crack was caused by the settlement of the foundation. EFS recommended installing Push Piers to the footing of the foundation to lift the foundation to its original position.

Our production team exposed the footing of the foundation wall near the crack and installed 5 Push Piers near the corner of the foundation. The team used a hydraulic press to push the piers down into the soil below the home until they all reach sufficient pressure. After they reach pressure the team will cap each pier and then backfill all of the dirt against the foundation.

The homeowners were very pleased with the results of the project and that they no longer have to worry about the crack in their foundation.

Home is Settling, North Andover, MA

A homeowner in North Andover, Massachusetts, had concerns about settlement in their home after their side yard has started to erode a few years ago. The homeowner also had water entering the basement and would like that address too. Our design specialist examined the home and recommended installing Push Piers, PolyLevel, Fast Drain, and SuperSump to the home.

Our team installed some piers on the inside and outside of the home. Our production team first began to expose the footing of the home to install the piers. After the team exposed the footing, they chipped out a section of the footing to attach our push pier bracket to the home's foundation. Once the bracket was connected to the foundation, the team used a hydraulic press to push 3' sections of steel into the ground below until a certain pressure is achieved. After the team finished installing all of the push piers, they used PolyLevel to fill the void under the slab in the basement. Before the team fully covered the push piers on the inside of the home, the team installed a Fast Drain, some corrugated pipes to collect water, and a SuperSump Triplesafe to collect water from the wall and direct it out of the home. The team was able to find sustainable pressure for the push piers to rest on and were able to prevent water from entering the basement.
